Frequently Asked Questions
In your first session, your therapist is getting to know you, understand your needs and your issues in other for you to collaboratively agree on the best therapy approach that may be best suited for you.
This will depend on your issues, your willingness to deal with them and how much work you are putting. Some clients will come for a fix period of time with a specific goal they want to achieve, and others prefer to open contracts. There is no set limit, and you can decide when to end the sessions.
We recommend weekly sessions and if possible, on the same day and time. Research suggests weekly sessions are beneficial for recovery and improving mood.
- Our counselling and CBT sessions are 50 minutes.
- EMDR sessions are 60 minutes or 90 minutes
50 minutes sessions cost £55, and you can pay through this website when completing your booking.
All our sessions are confidential except when it comes to risk of serious harm to yourself or others or in a case of a serious criminal offence. In a circumstance where confidentiality needs to be broken, we will always aim to discuss this with you first.
If you feel like counselling is not for you, it may be helpful for us to discuss our work together as this may be due to a variety of reasons. You can stop your sessions at any time.

The number of sessions you have will depend on you, your therapist, the type of therapy and depth and complexity of the issues you want to work on. Most conditions will see a significant or complete resolution after six sessions or so.
Yes of course, to avoid the inconvenience of travelling, telephone/zoom consultations are readily available at a time which is convenient for you.
Sessions will usually last around 45-1hr minutes and will typically take place once a week.
