Therapy for people with Long Term Health Conditions (LTC)

Long-term health conditions (LTC therapy), also known as chronic conditions, refers to those illnesses that require ongoing management because there is no treatment available to remedy the situation and can only be controlled by medication or other therapeutic interventions.

Chronic health conditions can be lifelong illnesses such as

These diseases require ongoing management because there is no immediate cure and with the application of some alternative medication and therapy, they can be controlled over time to provide the relief you need.

Fadi’s Counselling offers support for clients who have been diagnosed with LTCs and are experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety or stress. It can be difficult to manage these conditions when you’re not informed on how they impact your mental health–but there is hope! The mood swings that happen as a result of these conditions will only make the problem worse without proper care from an experienced professional and that is why we offer individualized treatment plans based off each person individually.

We know that this can be a difficult time in life, especially when you’re struggling with mental health issues like depression or anxiety resulting from your current situation or illness; but it doesn’t have to! Our professional team of LTCs experts are here to help, support and guide your mind and body towards happiness again – all while managing any related symptoms effectively, so they don’t worsen any further than what already exists

Impact of Long-Term Health Conditions

Long Term Health conditions can have a significant impact on your daily lifestyle. They may also affect relationships with loved ones, the ability to work and earn money for yourself or family members who depend upon you financially; as well as any other needs that you might be experiencing.

Managing your LTC

Managing your long-term health condition depends on individual circumstances and the level or nature of your health condition as an individual. The prevalence of many long-term illnesses is increasing around the world due to a wide range of challenging factors stemming from individual lifestyles and lack of proper ailment remedies or treatments.

The rapid ageing population and lifestyles where smoking, alcohol or poor diet are considered normal have had lasting effects on human health in general as well as those living with them who may be faced with sudden deaths from these issues if left untreated for too long. Fortunately, modern treatments mean that people can live longer lives even though they’re suffering from chronic pain and incurable diseases.  It means having professional intervention and counselling towards managing your individual condition better is the way forward

While it is important to keep private matters like your physical or mental health problems discreet, if they are having an adverse effect on the quality of life you lead, then opening up is absolutely the right thing to do especially with family, close friends and work-colleagues if you are in employment. They’ll know how to help! Do not hesitate in asking for support. There’s no shame in needing help.

Do I need a referral from my GP

You should not need the approval of your GP in order to contact us when you have a long-term health condition. You can access all that we offer without an appointment, and also, going through your GPs surgery for a referral could mean getting on waiting lists! For some person living with long term illness/injury, there is always some form of waiting involved which only adds another level of complexity onto an already difficult situation, sometimes! We know it can be hard to make the first step towards getting help for your condition, but don’t worry.

What to expect during your first appointment

You’ll be able to talk about what’s important and get the chance for help with looking after your health. The counsellor will raise any issues she is worried about during this meeting, but once we both agree on the main points of focus (and there aren’t many!), then the counsellor can work out a plan that will help you, making sure everything gets taken care-of in terms or support and relieve where needed![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_cta h2=”Looking for LTC Therapy?
