Relationship Counselling
Relationship Counselling helps improve and solidify your relationship with others. If you’re struggling in your relationships, but you don’t know how to fix them, or you’re stuck in a rut with your relationships and you don’t know how to get out and no matter how hard you try, you can’t seem to break free from the same destructive patterns, or it could be that you are stuck in a negative relationship cycle and don`t know how to break fee; we can help.
It can also be hard to admit that you need help with your relationships, but the fact is that most of us could use a little guidance now and then because counselling is a proven way to improve things.
It’s frustrating, isn’t it? You want to be able to enjoy healthy and fulfilling relationships, but you just can’t seem to get past your old problems.
We truly know how it can be incredibly difficult to break free from a negative or destructive relationship pattern, especially if you don’t have the support of a therapist, family or friends.
Our therapists use an approach called IPT, which has been proven to be effective in helping people to rekindle their relationships. With our support, you’ll be able to identify the problems in your relationships, use the right tools and find a way through them. Our professional counsellors will provide you with a supportive and non-judgmental environment where you can explore your feelings and find a way to move on and fulfil your life’s aspirations.
What do you benefit from a relationship counselling session?
Relationship counselling can help you to understand your other half and the way they feels about certain things, behaviours and wordings. You also get new insights on how to interact with them in order to not only be better partners, but to lead healthier lives as a team.
The immediate benefits of relationship counselling therapy
- Helps to strengthen your relationship by providing you with skills to communicate more effectively, resolve conflict peacefully and stand up for yourself when necessary
- learn how not to be judgmental or critical towards others and also how to take ownership of shared problems
- explore and discover different solutions for repairing your relationships with others
- discover ways you can better communicate so that things don’t get tense or angry between partners/family members
- learn how to work on building trust between you and your partner or family member
Relationship counselling includes “skill work” which engages both parties into learning and discovering more effective ways for communicating, problem solving etc. The process may also include teaching practical skills that will actually change your behaviour when needed, because these measures and techniques are there just like any protective device.
Fadi’s Counselling is a place where you can go to get the support and guidance that your family needs to stay intact as well as to flourish.
Our relationship therapists will work with both parties in order to find common ground, clarify issues/problem areas relative to each individual person involved in the relationship and how best to deal with it irrespective of whether the crises relates to an affair or marriage dissolving process – whether you are seeking advice on how best to handle your emotions outside of therapy; want emotional relief from partner’s wrongdoings; wishfulness towards reconciliation et al, speak to us
What to expect from a relationship therapist during a counselling session
It’s not always easy to know what the right step might be when your relationship is struggling. You could try counselling, which has been proven as an effective way of assisting individuals with emotional problems in relationships who want help solving them–but this doesn’t come without its challenges!
In a counselling session, you’ll discuss the boundaries and limitations of confidentiality with your counsellor. You’ll also put in place an agreement that will govern all future sessions – this is so we can both know where our roles as counsellor or patient ends when it comes to sharing information about ourselves and services without permission from each other beforehand.
The first phase involves one to three sessions in which you’ll have an assessment and investigation into your social history, relationships – including, examining any major changes or expectations – as well as various other factors such as stressors at home/work and more; as this will allow us to identify what kind of problems might be underlying all these issues…
If it turns out there’s something specific going wrong within certain areas (like say, anger, unfaithfulness, gossiping, disrespect etc), then we may focus on developing solutions tailored specifically towards solving just those issues and triggers before we ever move further!
There are many reasons why people may seek out professional relationship counselling help, they could be trying desperately hard but still aren’t happy at work, dealing with family issues after losing a loved one or dealing with an unfaithful partner… etcetera.
The counsellor’s job is not to back up any party in arguments, but rather to explore the reasons behind your actions and the need for counselling. “It can be really difficult for people who have been through trauma or abuse and sometimes one might lash out at their partner because of the feeling of being hurt.”
Do you need help with your relationship issues?
Counselling can be a starting point for many couples or individuals who are struggling to work through their relationship problems. You’ll need commitment, engagement, and lots of hard work in order to make this process worthwhile – and it may just result in your relationship improving so that it’s better than ever!
The relationship counselling sessions at Fadi’s Counselling are designed to be supportive, engaging and informative. The first phase is usually the discovery phase where everything and all things are put under the microscope of relationship analysis and diagnosis.
You can choose from either a face-to-face consultation or an online zoom session, with the latter providing you space for questions without having your partner present throughout every aspect of it!
“You and your partner need to communicate with one another.”
Fadi’s counselling sessions provide the tools for both parties involved in a relationship, where they can be sincerely heard, making honest and frank communication become possible. She’ll work with you on how to talk through issues without feeling frustrated or angry, because without this approach it will only lead towards negativity which damages relationships over time, when there should otherwise have been peace between each other.
